According to the mayor of the capital, the authorities are observing a steady decrease in the number of infections.

“We can now say with confidence that the non-working days provided for by the presidential decree have played a serious role in smoothing and reducing the incidence”, - Kommersant quotes Sobyanin as saying.

Speaking on the air of the TV channel "Russia 1", Sobyanin said that in five days, in the conditions of decreasing morbidity in hospitals, about a thousand beds were vacated.

In total, 40 123 people fell ill with covid per day in the country. A day earlier, the number of detected cases was 1.5% more - 40,759. In total, 8,992,595 people fell ill since the beginning of the pandemic.

In Moscow, where the incidence of covid was higher than in the country as a whole, the lockdown lasted longer: not from October 30, but from October 28 to November 7. In some regions, the authorities, following the example of Moscow, have also begun to introduce QR-codes that allow access to public institutions only for vaccinated citizens.
