The National Parents' Committee (NPC) has invited the government to introduce a special allowance for the purchase of masks and gloves during the coronavirus pandemic.

The head of the NPC Irina Volynets noted that the mask and glove regimes were introduced in many Russian regions, while not all citizens have the opportunity to provide themselves with these protective equipment.

- In this regard, I ask you to initiate the introduction of a special allowance for residents of Russia aimed at buying masks, gloves and other means of protection during a pandemic. Its size should be calculated taking into account the average cost of protective equipment in each region from the calculation of at least one mask per day... It is assumed that the benefit should be paid monthly until the end of the pandemic, - Volynets quoted the government as addressing RT.

The chairman of the NQF suggested that in exceptional cases, the allowance could be replaced with a free distribution of masks and gloves.

Recall that the governor of St. Petersburg, Alexander Beglov, signed a decree according to which pensioners, large and low-income families will be paid 800 rubles each to purchase these remedies. This kind of support is supposed to be provided to families where orphans are brought up. Masks and gloves in St. Petersburg will also be provided for children living in orphanages.

Earlier, the Communist Party proposed to provide masks and gloves for all citizens free of charge.

It should be noted that the Ministry of Industry and Trade has published a list of recommendations prepared along with retail chains, according to which stores will not serve customers without masks and gloves.

Meanwhile, already 198 passengers of the Moscow metro were fined for violating the mask-and-glove regime imposed by the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin. At the same time, the mayor himself recently published a photo of a visit to one of the Moscow construction projects, on which he is without gloves. The mayor’s spokeswoman explained that the photo was taken at the construction site, and it does not belong to the category of “public places”.
