90% of lung damage: film director Zvyagintsev is getting treatment against covid in Germany

Recall that 57-year-old Zvyagintsev is a two-time winner of the Venetian Golden Lion, a multiple laureate of the Cannes Film Festival, a Golden Globe winner, and twice an Oscar nominee. The fact that he was not spared by the covid, it became known in early July.

The director's condition was immediately assessed as grave, he was hospitalized at the FMBA center, where he spent a whole month, and then was transferred to the Moscow city hospital named after Davydovsky. It was reported that the director was diagnosed with almost 90% lung damage.

And the other day there was information that he is now undergoing treatment in one of the clinics in Germany, more specifically - in Hanover, as told by his relatives.

According to Baza, the patient's condition is assessed as extremely serious. With reference to sources, the Telegram channel notes that although Andrei Zvyagintsev's tests for covid have already been negative, the damage to the lungs is still large-scale.

A day earlier, a number of publications published reports that the director was allegedly dying. However, informed sources, anonymously, soon denied this information: "At the moment, there is no talk of a threat to life".

As a friend of the cinematographer told Moskovsky Komsomolets , the condition is still serious, but not as much as described in the media.

“A strange story is happening with Andrey. It raises many questions. Andrei was ill and was treated in Moscow. It seemed that he was cured. In any case, it became easier for him. But what happened next is not clear. Perhaps he became ill after the vaccination. I suppose they decided not to talk about the deterioration. God forbid, it will become known that the most famous Russian director is in a grave condition after being vaccinated, "a friend of the director said in an interview with "MK".

By the way, at the beginning of the summer, the director shared his big creative plans. Zvyagintsev said that after a long pause (his last film "Nelyubov" was released in 2017) he is starting to create a new picture. The film titled What Happens, a family breakup drama, should be Zvyagintsev's first English-language work.
