Vladimir Putin reminded migrants of the need to learn Russian

According to the president, the Russian language is "a unifying force that binds a single civilizational space on the territory of the CIS".

“We all well understand and know how many labor migrants work in Russia from the Commonwealth countries. It is important for both you and us that these people adapt and easily enter into normal life in Russia. For this, at least, you need to know the Russian language . You need to understand what Russia is, "the president said. His words are quoted by "TASS".

Also, according to the president, migrants should study Russian culture and relationships between peoples living on its territory. This is important in order to integrate into Russian society, and not just come to the country to work.

The head of state recalled that it was decided to declare 2023 in the Commonwealth countries as the year of the Russian language as a language of interethnic communication. “I am sure that all this will contribute to the spiritual and cultural mutual enrichment of the countries - members of the Commonwealth”, - the president summed up.

At the same time, it became known earlier that there were no signs in Russian at all in Belarus. Despite the fact that it is the second state in the country, all Russian-language signs on the streets and in the metro have been replaced with navigation in English and Chinese.
