More than 85% of able-bodied Russians admit to drinking alcohol, and 53% of young people do it regularly once a week, according to the report on the demographic situation of the Federal Project "Sober Russia".

The authors of the study emphasize that “the able-bodied population” of the country is under the main blow - 89.6 million people, that is, 61% of the total population.

- More than 76 million citizens of working age (85% of the working population) consume alcoholic beverages. At the same time, 70% of deaths of citizens of working age are directly or indirectly related to alcohol abuse, - RIA Novosti cites the text of the report.

In "Sober Russia" they indicate that the systematic use of alcoholic beverages among young people has increased in the country. For example, in 2019, the proportion of their involvement in alcohol consumption increased by 16% compared to 2018.

According to the survey, 69% of young people drink alcohol. 53% of respondents drink it at least once a week. According to the survey participants, the motivating factors for drinking intoxicating drinks were the availability of alcohol ( 62% ), as well as advertising of such products in the media and on television ( 52% ).

The survey involved 120 thousand people in 65 Russian regions. The main age of the respondents was 18-23 years old.

From a survey among seven thousand people in 64 subjects of the Russian Federation, it follows that 95% of respondents are in favor of a complete ban on the work of "liquors".

- Both society, regional authorities and the deputy corps are concerned about the growth of crime due to the fault of pseudo-cafes, which are briskly selling alcohol. People, residents of apartment buildings gave a clear request for a solution to the problem, - stressed the head of "Sober Russia" Sultan Khamzaev.

We will remind that earlier "Sober Russia" proposed to ban the sale of alcoholic beverages on the days of January 1 and 2. The proposal was sent to the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov.
