Strict self-isolation in the Republic of Crimea will be replaced on May 18 by the recommendations of the authorities to limit trips and leaving home without the specific necessity.

Such changes were made in the decree by the head of the Crimea Sergey Aksenov.

- To recommend to citizens to limit travel, including for tourism, not to leave their place of residence (stay) unnecessarily, and to refrain from visiting religious sites ... This decree comes into force on May 18, 2020, the decree says.

Citizens arriving in Crimea are instructed to provide self-isolation at the place of residence or stay for two weeks from the day they return to Russia, not to visit their place of work, study, or exclude visits to public places. If self-isolation at the place of residence or stay is not possible, then citizens will be quarantined at the observatory.

According to the document, from May 18, the republic’s government also plans to expand the list of organizations allowed to work during the coronavirus pandemic.

We recall that on May 11, Aksenov extended the regime of universal self-isolation until May 31.

To date, 245 coronavirus cases have been detected in Crimea. Two patients died.

Earlier, the head of the Crimean Public Chamber, Grigory Ioffe, stated that criticism of the actions of the authorities was preventing the spread of coronavirus infection. He recalled the 1970 cholera in Kerch and said that then the epidemic was managed thanks to the intervention of security forces, but in the current conditions this is completely impossible, since now such actions can be regarded as human rights violations.
