She clarified in an interview with RIA Novosti that with a mild course of the disease, patients recover in two weeks, and with moderate and severe, the recovery process takes three to six weeks.

Moreover, even after the result of the PCR test is negative, symptoms can persist for several months. As a rule, postcoid syndrome resolves in six months, gradually regressing. But some patients risk suffering from it even longer.

Omarova clarified that the relationship between the severity of the disease and the frequency of postcoid syndrome cannot always be traced, and even those who have suffered a mild illness may face such complications. The expert explained that everyone needs rehabilitation, an appointment as early as possible in order to prevent the development of fibrous tissue in the lungs. She stressed that the recommendation is especially relevant for those who have been treated with a ventilator.

Let us remind that the term "postcoid syndrome " includes from 20 to 60 symptoms. Most patients experience weakness, heaviness in the chest, a feeling of incomplete inhalation. Many people suffer from headaches, joint and muscle pains. Some develop sleep disturbances, depression, deterioration of attention, memory and reaction speed, excessive sweating appears. Some have numbness limbs.
