The participant of the Absolute Fighting Championship (UFC) Adam Yandiyev (pictured) was detained for two days and sent to a temporary detention center (TDC) pending a measure of restraint after he beat a mixed-style fighter Sergey Kharitonov in Luzhniki.

This was reported by TASS, referring to a source in law enforcement agencies.

"The case was re-qualified to a more serious article, he was detained as a suspect and sent to a temporary detention center pending the decision on a preventive measure for him", - the agency's interlocutor clarified, recalling that earlier it was only known that Yandiyev was taken to the police to explain his conduct.

Another TASS source indicates that at that time Yandiyev did not yet have the procedural status of a “detainee”.

Let us recall that Yandiyev refused to testify. Then it was reported that two cases were initiated against him under the article on deliberate infliction of slight harm to health.

The incident took place last Friday. Three people took part in the fight, two of them needed the help of doctors after the incident. According to one of the participants in the scuffle, Ruslan Abdo, Yandiyev first attacked Kharitonov and then himself, breaking both noses.

A video recording from CCTV cameras appeared on the network, capturing a fight. The footage shows Yandiyev striking first.
