Elections

Social psychologist Alexey Roshchin was impressed by the fantastic story that took place in Tambov.

First, the Rodina party, about which no one has heard anything for a long time, suddenly won the election against United Russia, having taken 26 out of 36 seats in the parliament! And this was the only defeat for the United Russia in the Sunday elections. Secondly, this party was led by the former mayor of the city, who returned from prison! And the residents of Tambov voted for him...

Thirdly, this mayor is also a representative of sexual minorities!

Here is what the journalist Kirill Shulika wrote about this:

"The Rodina party in Tambov took 26 seats out of 36 in the City Duma. And this is the main sensation of the United voting day (EDG). Now I will explain why it is she, and not something else. The regional" Rodina "is headed by the former mayor of Tambov Maxim Kosenkov. Quite a popular politician, but with an interesting story. Back in 2009 he was sentenced to 9.5 years in prison for participating in a kidnapping. The case is phony, a common story in the confrontation between the regional authorities and the popular mayor. An unusual article, but even more unusual plot of the accusation - he kept a visitor from Ukraine in sexual slavery. ”At the same time, Kosenkov himself may not have spoken directly in court, but hinted that there was no slavery and they basically had an affair and an ordinary same-sex family. And this is all Tambov!!! Kosenkov served six years. Now he triumphantly returned to politics, despite the fact in his biography in the form of a same-sex family. Moreover, he returned to politics from the homophobic "Motherland." This is really scrapped! In Tambov, from "Rodina" to beat United Russia party and take 26 out of 36 seats, in spite of I mean that the whole city knew about your criminal record, which is not so important, and same-sex relationships, which just breaks all the bonds into small pieces..."

Roshchin is sure that this story perfectly proves the absence of any homophobia among the Russian people: “We are much closer to the West than the people themselves think! Oh yes Kosenkov! And yes - he loves Tambov! And Tambov - him! Can such love be considered same-sex love?"
