If earlier it was believed that a child could be spoiled by a yard or bad company, now social networks play this role, says art critic, candidate of cultural studies Oleg Robinov.

For three years, Facebook has conducted surveys of social media users and, according to the results, Instagram, in particular, exacerbates problems with body image in one in three teenage girls. 14% of boys said Instagram impairs their self-esteem. Social networks are trying to reduce the harmful impact on children and adolescents, but the results are far from the most effective.

If earlier it was believed that a child could be spoiled by a yard or bad company, then social networks have simplified and brought the teenager closer to harmful influence. Art critic, candidate of cultural Oleg Robin in a radio broadcast Sputnik reminded that the mapping a successful life in social networks can lead to difficult consequences.

"The danger of TikTok and Instagram is that they drag on children who see successful peers who have already achieved a lot. These children find themselves in a kind of anti-world, from where they can take some words, borrow gestures and demeanors. Now it has become more accessible and in pursuit of trends, in search of popularity, people begin to do unusual things for them", - said Oleg Robinov.
