According to the head of Rospotrebnadzor, the rate of distribution of "Omicron" in the world raises serious concerns.

“We see the rapid development of the situation in the UK, in Africa, where more than 75% of detected cases are reported daily by Omicron, the same is in South Africa. The growth rates are frightening in their danger and risk", - RIA Novosti quotes the words of Anna Popova.

At the moment, it is known about 25 patients in Russia, in whom the new strain has been officially confirmed.

Yesterday, the WHO reported that the number of people infected with Omicron doubles every 2-3 days. The representative of the organization noted that the rapid spread of the new strain of coronavirus will "shake" the health care system and place a significant burden on health workers.
