Far Eastern fishing companies have warned of possible "large-scale disruptions" in the Iwashi sardine harvest due to the entry into force of the requirement to declare non-sailing vessels through customs.

According to the innovations, ships built or bought abroad and serviced in foreign ports must go through customs declaration in order to be able to fish under Russian quotas in the exclusive economic zone.

According to RBC, referring to the appeal of the head of the companies "Tralflot" and "Sofko" Vladimir Rekasov to Deputy Prime Minister Victoria Abramchenko, the fishermen indicated that they would have to abandon the catch of ivashi, since the cost of customs clearance of trawlers increased. Rekasov warned that a "significant" increase in the cost of a number of fish products would follow.

Sardine is still the most inexpensive fish in Russia. For a kilogram of sardines, including delivery to the port of Vladivostok, fishermen charge 40-45 rubles. Herring, for example, costs 65 rubles per kg under the same conditions.

Rekasov clarified that the cost of fish products can now increase by 20-25%,

Previously, we recall, under the threat turned out to be the delivery of pollock in the Russian regions due to a sharp collapse in prices caused by China's reluctance to accept the Russian fish. At the height of fishing season in the Sea of Okhotsk, prices for pollock fell by 35%.
