According to Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, the Ministry of Defense has assisted civilian doctors who treat the capital’s patients with the coronavirus COVID-19. In the city over the last day another 1959 infected with coronavirus have been detected, the number of infected has increased to 18 105 people.

In Moscow hospitals that work with coronavirus, 20 teams of military doctors began to work, said Mayor Sergei Sobyanin. He recalled that for such work, the city first of all needs resuscitation teams, reports Interfax This was previously requested by the head of the city, Russian President Vladimir Putin. Sergei Sobyanin also noted that when the peak of incidence takes place in the capital, military doctors will gain some experience and will be able to provide assistance to residents of other regions.

Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said that a reserve has been created in the armed forces to help the civilian population in case of outbreaks of coronavirus - a total of 65 resuscitation medical and nursing teams, reports newsru.com. Also, the troops of radiation, chemical and biological defense can disinfect cities.

“Already today, 4.9 thousand beds have been prepared for possible assistance to the subjects of Russia, and by May 15 we will be ready to provide 7.5 thousand equipped places for our citizens and 5.2 thousand military physicians to serve them,” Sergei said Shoigu agency RIA "Novosti" . The Minister of Defense added that, if necessary, six infectious hospitals will be deployed : two in the Nizhny Novgorod and Ryazan regions, one each in the Chelyabinsk region and the Primorsky Territory. For this, the autonomous field camps for 900 beds will be converted.

At the same time, Sergei Sobyanin believes that despite the growing number of cases infected with COVID-19, the situation with the incidence of coronavirus in Moscow does not develop according to the worst-case scenario due to measures taken to limit the movement and contacts of city residents. The city authorities believe that the situation will begin to improve at least a little after a few weeks. But so far it’s not simple, and so now the authorities are actively transferring Moscow clinics from the usual regime to the regime of combating coronavirus. In the territories of five city hospitals, they even began to build temporary awnings to accommodate patients; similar hospitals with 1,200 beds are equipped at four more addresses.

Throughout the whole of Russia, 4,070 new cases of coronavirus infection were detected per day, in all there were 32,008 cases in the country, but 2590 patients had already recovered, 273 people died.
