Sergey Khrushchev, the son of the first secretary of the Central Committee of the CPSU Nikita Khrushchev, passed away at the age of 84 in the United States.
His friend Gary Powers told about this to RIA Novosti.
“I had the opportunity to contact his family, and they confirmed that he had passed away”, - Powers said.
Great-granddaughter of Nikita Khrushchev Nina told RBC that Sergey Khrushchev died on June 18 in Cranston, Rhode Island.
The circumstances of the death of Khrushchev are currently being clarified.
Sergey Khrushchev, a space systems designer, emigrated to the United States in the 1990s. In 1999, he received American citizenship.
