As the President said during a meeting with members of the government, the regional authorities have been given the authority to introduce non-working days before this deadline, or extend them after October 30, if the situation with the spread of coronavirus in the subject is critical.

Putin's meeting with members of the Cabinet of Ministers was broadcast by "Russia 24".

Vladimir Putin urged regional leaders not to underestimate the statistics on detecting cases of coronavirus infection in the field. According to the head of state, the large number of detected cases testifies to the good work of the regional authorities to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova, worried about the increase in the number of infections and deaths from covid, addressed the president with a proposal to introduce non-working days. Golikova's proposal was first supported by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, and then by President Vladimir Putin.

According to the head of state, after he received the second vaccination against coronavirus, he himself "had a fever", and the decision to stay at home in such conditions "will only benefit".

Putin urged citizens of the country to be more actively vaccinated, since vaccination is the only effective way to protect against serious consequences during the fourth wave of coronavirus.

He stressed that when a person has a choice to be ill or vaccinated, it is better to vaccinate.

For the duration of the restrictions, the government must take measures to support business. During the meeting, the president gave such an order to members of the government.

Earlier, from the regions where restrictions have already been introduced due to covid, there were requests from entrepreneurs for the allocation of support funds, since due to restrictive measures, businesses are suffering serious losses, and some enterprises are on the verge of ruin.

The incidence curve of covid in the country has been increasing since September. In recent days, more than 30 thousand infections have been recorded per day, and the number of deaths from covid complications has reached 1,028 cases per day.

Earlier on October 20, it became known that the capital's mayor's office is discussing the conditions for introducing a hard short-term lockdown from October 30 to November 7. Restrictions will affect everyone, QR codes will not work.

As reported Forbes, during the non-working week, the authorities intend to restrict citizens' access to shops, cafes, restaurants, beauty salons and clinics. It will not be possible to enter them even for those who have QR codes confirming the fact of vaccination.
