More than 70% of Russians admitted that they can not live on one salary

This is evidenced by the results of a survey conducted by VTsIOM (the All-Russian public opinion research center).

The study showed that 71% of employed Russians would like to find additional employment that could generate income. This is mainly stated by respondents aged 25-34 years - 88%. 28% of all respondents said that they do not need additional employment. Least of all want to look for another way of earning, survey participants over 60 years old - 57%.

As areas where it would be possible to earn extra money, the respondents mostly called trade, education and work as a security guard.

As an additional income on the Internet, the Russians called blogging, tutoring and rates on the currency exchange.

More than half - 56% - of all respondents said that they did not know about any part-time jobs on the Internet. One in five found it difficult to answer this question.

Earlier this year, HeadHunter conducted a similar survey. According to the study, more than half of the citizens were going to find a part-time job for themselves over the next three months.

Moreover, such an indicator has been preserved since 2016. Annually 51-55% of Russians admitted their intention to find additional work.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Labor said that the number of unemployed in Russia could increase to 5.3 million people. However, for the country, the figure is small, since in other countries the unemployment rate is even higher.

In April this year, there was a sharp jump in unemployment, but the head of the Ministry of Labor, Anton Kotyakov, did not associate the trend with the crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic. According to him, the indicator increased, since in April, those who had been unemployed for at least a year were registered with employment centers.

In early May, it was said that since March, more than 200 thousand Russians have lost their jobs.
