- The final assessments of the test results by our specialists and scientists of the National Research Center have already been made. At the time of discharge, all volunteers without exception, having received immunity to the coronavirus, felt fine. Thus, the first domestic vaccine against the new coronavirus infection is ready, - said the First Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Ruslan Tsalikov in an interview with the newspaper Argumenty i Fakty.

He noted that the volunteers who received the vaccine were under constant supervision of the specialists of the Main Military Hospital. The first group was discharged from the hospital on July 15 after having passed control tests. Five days later, the second group also completed their participation in clinical trials.

Tsalikov stressed that the participation of the department in such knowledge-intensive work is not an exception, but "a time-tested practice".

- Firstly, in the event of any hostilities, it is the servicemen who are the first to be exposed to the danger of exposure to harmful or toxic substances of a radiation, chemical or biological nature. Secondly, the Armed Forces have a serious scientific and clinical potential for conducting such research and work. And thirdly, we have extensive experience in solving such problems, - said the first deputy minister.

Note that information appeared in the media that the Russian elite received access to the first vaccine against the new coronavirus infection back in April. According to Bloomberg, the drug was specially developed at the National Research Center named after N. F. Gamaleya for the "top" of society.

Meanwhile, a new group of volunteers are preparing to test another vaccine. This time we are talking about a Chinese vaccine, which they intend to test on humans at the Influenza Research Institute in St. Petersburg.
