In 2020, the total debt of Russians in traffic fines increased by 1 billion rubles, in total, Russians owe 11.3 billion rubles in fines.

This is reported by TASS with reference to the statistics of the Federal Bailiff Service (FSSP).

On January 1, 2021, there were over 13.6 million materials in enforcement proceedings on the collection of traffic police fines for a total amount of more than 11.3 billion rubles. As of January 1, 2020, the total amount of outstanding fines was 10.4 billion rubles.

According to the FSSP, at present, the average amount of debt for traffic fines is about 830 rubles.

As TASS was told in the press center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, in 2020 the number of traffic violations detected by video cameras increased significantly: 145.5 million decisions on administrative cases were issued based on video recording, which is almost 20% more than in 2019.

According to the results of an all-Russian poll among motorists, recently conducted by the Drome portal, 34% of those surveyed agreed with the statement that they were unfairly fined by the traffic police. And only 21% of respondents agreed that they were fined objectively.
