The official representative of the Information Center for Monitoring the Situation with the Coronavirus, the head physician of the Moscow City Clinical Hospital No. 71, Alexander Myasnikov, stated that his forecast for the peak incidence of COVID-19 turned out to be erroneous.

Myasnikov previously suggested that the peak of the epidemic in Russia could be expected in late April.

- I was wrong with the peak. We go up, go, go, go, then the plateau and down. All this takes two to three months. We did not start when I predicted this, but almost a month later. Now it turns out that until May we go up, in May we go to the plateau, and by the end of May we go down”,- the doctor said on the YouTube channel “About the most important thing”.

Now the doctor does not undertake to predict the peak of the epidemic. According to him, it is still difficult. He advised to wait.

- We are all waiting with all our might. Over the past two thousand years nothing better has been invented, since it is a virus. Until it burns out, does not fade, ”stated Myasnikov.

Myasnikov previously stated that the experience of combating the coronavirus pandemic in Russia "should change the national security system, the priorities of economic policy and the organization of health care." Relevant proposals are contained in the report “COVID-19: A Challenge to Health Care”.

He also pointed out that the principle of quarantine was not respected in Russia, and it was not practical to extend the regime of self-isolation.

“I am personally convinced that isolation should not be extended beyond certain deadlines, because then problems can be such that COVID-19 would seem to be a blessing”, - the expert said, recalling the increased number of episodes of domestic violence, the exacerbation of chronic diseases and the worsening economic situation of Russians .

In Russia, 52,763 cases of coronavirus infection were registered. 3,873 patients recovered. 456 people died from the disease.
