Since the introduction of the holiday regime in connection with the situation with the coronavirus, the unemployment rate in Moscow has grown by 45%. At the same time, companies do not arrange the mass layoff of their employees.

- If we talk about statistics, then we had a 0.4% registered unemployment rate in Moscow before the pandemic, the level of assessment of the International Labor Organization is 1.5%. Now, literally in three weeks of the capital's operation in this mode, our registered unemployment rate has grown by almost 45% and amounts to 0.66%. And we see the dynamics that approximately according to the ILO (International Labor Organization) we will be equal in registered unemployment, ”Roman Shkut, director of the My Work employment center, said on the radio station Ekho Moskvy.

According to Skut, since March 30, 17 thousand users have already registered on the portal themselves, 14 thousand - receive benefits.

“If we are talking about companies, we don’t see statistics on mass dismissal now, they either issue them for idle days or make days off,” Shkut noted.

He added that 62 thousand people are registered in the employment center. However, the center has no data on 12% of Muscovites who have lost their jobs, which some researchers talk about.

“We can predict that if this situation continues in the country and in the city, of course, the labor market will be extremely difficult, it will be difficult not only to find a job, but it will be hard for people in general,” the expert stated.

Earlier, authorities introduced a simplified registration procedure at the labor exchange. Russians left without work after the introduction of restrictions on coronavirus measures will be able to register remotely.

Before that, the Cabinet set the amount of payment at 12,130 rubles as unemployment benefits. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin has appointed a payment of 19,500 rubles for Muscovites who have lost their jobs. It turned out to be quite difficult to get this money.

Recall that Rosstat could not calculate the dynamics of overdue wage arrears, which was formed after the introduction of the non-working day regime.
