Representatives of the tourism industry once again turned to Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin with a request to revise the draft law developed by the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) on the introduction of state regulation of prices for hotel services.

It is reported by RIA Novosti.

On January 20, Mishustin was sent a letter signed by about 30 representatives of the largest associations in the hospitality industry, including from the Russian Union of the Tourism Industry, the Russian Hotel Association, the Federation of Restaurateurs and Hoteliers of Russia, and international hotel companies.

They pointed out that the bill would only worsen the situation in the industry, and offered their own ways to avoid price increases.

Suggestions include hosting events for affluent audiences in cities with a large number of high-end hotels, as well as holding events during the low tourist season and informing about events as early as possible to increase the depth of bookings.

Recall that last year, tour operators promised to reduce prices for tours after the New Year.
