An increase in waste collection for mining equipment may lead to an increase in tariffs for heat and electricity, said Anatoly Yanovsky, Deputy Head of the Ministry of Energy.

He sent a letter to the Ministry of Economy and the Ministry of Industry and Trade, indicating that the fees for special equipment could grow 2-4 times, and for cars - by 25%.

"Considering that the cost of production of coal companies directly affects the tariff component in the energy sector and heat, it can be predicted that the increase in the cost of coal caused by the revision of the rates of utilization fee will entail the risk of an increase in the costs of generating capacities, which, in turn, will be an additional factor for an increase in the tariff for heat, and in a number of regions for electricity", - Izvestia cites the text of the letter.

Anatoly Yanovsky notes that it is planned to increase the utilization fee for mining equipment, and this will lead to "an increase in the financial burden on organizations in the mining industry". In addition, the increase in utilization, the deputy minister is sure, will not stimulate the abandonment of foreign equipment, since Russian counterparts do not have the required characteristics.

The Ministry of Energy is confident that it is necessary to increase the calculation coefficients of the utilization fee in stages, and for certain types of equipment it should be left the same.

Recall that the authorities intended to increase the waste collection at the end of last year. The decision was related to the devaluation of the ruble. In November 2020, it was assumed that growth could be up to 30%. When calculating the final amount of the levy included in the price of each car put on the market, the coefficients are taken into account, by which the base rate is multiplied, depending on the engine size and the age of the vehicle.
