Extreme heat and forest fires expected in July
This was reported by RIA Novosti at the All-Russian Research Institute for Civil Defense and Emergencies in response to a request.
"In June-July 2020, an increased probability of periods with extremely high temperatures is predicted in a number of Russian regions. At moderate latitudes, including in the Moscow region, the air can warm up to +30 degrees in the afternoon, and above +35 on the southern borders of the country", - the message says.
It is noted that extreme heat can affect the number of fires in the south Far East and Siberia, to a lesser extent - in the European part of the country. Peat fires that are usual for such heat are not excluded in the Moscow region and neighboring regions.
