On August, 24, the amendments to the law on OSAGO (Careful car owners will be able to pay less for insurance) entered into force. From this point on, insurance companies will be able to enter and take into account personal factors when determining the rate for each driver.

Careful car owners will be able to pay less for insurance.

The updated document has been published on the legal information portal. According to the amendments, insurers will independently determine their approach to applying the base rates of insurance rates within the maximum and minimum values regulated by the Bank of Russia.

From today on, the cost of the policy will be affected, for example, whether the driver was deprived of his license earlier, whether he violated traffic rules, whether he was involved in an accident, and more. At the same time, the Central Bank has identified a number of criteria that insurance companies are not entitled to use to raise or lower the tariff. Among them are racial, national, linguistic affiliation and other clearly discriminatory factors.

The base rate has expanded by 10% up and down since 24 August. The tariff corridor for cars of individuals is within 2471-5436 rubles. Recall that the deputy chairman of the Central Bank Vladimir Chistyukhin also specified that the tariff corridor for legal entities will expand by 20%, and for taxis - by 30%. Thus, the minimum and maximum cost of OSAGO will differ by more than two times.

The maximum amount of the maximum insurance premium under the OSAGO agreement will remain limited. To calculate it, you can use a special calculator posted on the website of the insurer.

As a reminder, until September 30, the inspection is still canceled . Such measures are associated with the coronavirus pandemic. On October 1, all car owners will again have to receive a diagnostic card.

Among other innovations that are still just waiting for Russian motorists, it is worth noting a decrease in the cost of travel on toll roads. At the same time, speed limits on highways, on the contrary, will increase - up to 130 km / h on the bypass of Novaya Usman (M4 “Don” highway) and on the bypass of Vyshny Volochek (M11 “Neva” highway).
