He noted that there are already several options for gasification, which are being considered at the level of the government and the Russian Ministry of Energy. In addition, this issue is under the control of President Vladimir Putin. “From the point of view of the development of a unified gas supply system in Eastern Siberia, we are only at the beginning of the journey... Immediately at the beginning of next year, we will hold an event with me and together we will think and work on creating such conditions”, - Novak said when summing up the results of the all-Russian contest “MediaTEK”.

The Prime Minister of the Irkutsk Region Konstantin Zaitsev recalled that by 2035 the level of gasification in the region should increase by 14.3%. This is due to the fact that the country's new energy strategy pays special attention to expanding the gas transportation structure in Eastern Siberia and the Far East.

Currently, the structure of gas consumption in the Irkutsk region is less than 9%. At the same time, the region has the largest in terms of gas reserves in the east of the country - Kovykta.
