Gennady Onishchenko explained how it's possible to defeat coronavirus in two weeks

According to Gennady Onishchenko, another gradual easing of restrictions due to the spread of the coronavirus COVID-19, which began in many regions of Russia, is due to two circumstances.

"Firstly, today we already know a lot about this coronavirus", - the deputy said on the air of radio Sputnik. - "And secondly, we have specific means of prevention. Our country has developed and registered three vaccines: the genetic engineering one is the Gamaleya Institute, the synthetic vaccine is the Vector Center, and the whole virion vaccine is the Chumakov Institute, the Poliomyelitis Institute".

Gennady Onishchenko noted that as of today, quite a few people have had coronavirus in Russia, but they are contributing to the formation of population immunity. It is worth remembering that millions of other Russians are also sick or ill, but they simply do not know about it - the infection manifests itself asymptomatically or with a mild course of the disease. If we add to all this the efforts already underway to vaccinate, then a powerful population layer will form and the epidemiological process will be stopped, reports eadaily.com.

"As part of the vaccination that has begun, it is most important to get vaccinated in people who are at risk for reasons of professional activity", - added Gennady Onishchenko. "These are doctors, teachers, trade workers, transport workers, journalists - those who communicate with a large number of people because of their profession". Also, people over 65 should not forget about the earliest possible vaccination.

At the same time, many still express doubts whether they can be vaccinated for health reasons. The deputy advised them to focus not on the opinions of acquaintances and rumors from the Internet, but on consultation with a specialist: “Some people cannot: if I, for example, had the flu and I had a temperature yesterday, then I can get vaccinated only in a month. There are contraindications (against vaccinations) , there are exacerbations of some chronic diseases - in each case the doctor will make a decision". It is worth noting that in November 2020 Mr. Gennady Onishchenko was against total vaccination of Russians from the coronavirus.

Gennady Onishchenko also recalled that the weakening of restrictions does not at all mean that all the dangers of coronavirus are behind. After all, this already happened last summer, when the incidence fell, the restrictions began to be lifted and even reported almost about the victory over the infection, but in the fall everything started again. Therefore, it is important to continue to adhere to personal protective measures: maintain social distance, wear protective masks and gloves, pay increased attention to hand hygiene: "If we now all put on gloves, put on masks and observe everything, even entering restaurants, I guarantee you: it will all be over in 14 days".

However, Gennady Onishchenko noted that at the same time he understands that the scrupulous observance by all Russians of anti-epidemic rules will most likely be an unrealizable dream.
