The governor of the Kursk region, Roman Starovoit (pictured on the right), withdrew his controversial order given to the security forces so that they “work out” the commentators on his social networks.

According to the publication "Podyom", the reason for the discontent of the governor was two posts under the publication about the action on the Day of Remembrance and Sorrow.

“One user suggested opening a zoo in Kursk called Auschwitz. In another comment, the eco-activist Yulia Chugunova called the cups with candles as plastic waste”, - the message says.

After that, there was a public scandal.

“At the weekly planning meeting, Starovoit called the authors of the proposal scoundrels, noting that“ openness is not permissiveness. “I ask the security officials to work out these two characters”, - Lenta.ru quotes the words of the governor.

Starovoit did not explain why it was the post of eco-activist Yulia Chugunova about the abundance of plastic waste that caused him such anger.

“I ask you to find this citizen, let's have a preventive conversation. I would just look her in the eye”, - Starovoit said.

In turn, Yulia Chugunova noted that she respects Starovoit's work and is not against meeting him. According to her, there was a simple misunderstanding.

When the governor's harsh statements were picked up by the media, Starovoit's press service had to make excuses.

Governor's press secretary Anastasia Gurina said that the head of the region got excited when he demanded to involve the police in the search for commentators.

“The governor reads his social networks himself, he saw it and showed such an emotional reaction. Roman Vladimirovich in his hearts, probably showing excessive emotions, said this phrase", - writes "Podyom".

Gurina added that the governor does not need an apology, "he just wants to meet with them and talk".
