Quarterly disclosure of monopoly should be that pipelayer Academician Chersky (Akademik Cherskiy) - the only Russian ship with modern dynamic positioning system - no longer belongs to the group Gazprom.
Earlier it was indicated that the ship was listed as part of Gazprom Flot LLC and is owned by Samara Heat and Power Property Fund JSC (STIF). At the end of March, the fund "moved" from Samara to St. Petersburg, there are no other ships behind it. There is no fund in the new list of affiliates as of June 30.
Recall that the authorized capital of the Samara Heat and Power Property Fund was 123 million rubles. The lease and management of real estate were indicated as his main activity. Previously, Academician Chersky was owned by the operational department of Gazprom Flot for five years.
The vessel is still docked in the German port of Mukran, at the Nord Stream 2 logistics base.
Note that Gazprom has only 6% of the pipeline left to complete. However, as a result of the sanctions imposed by the United States, the process of completing the construction was significantly complicated.
Political analyst Andrey Suzdaltsev expressed the assumption that the change of the owner of the pipelayer may be one way of avoiding US sanctions.
At the end of last year, Energy Minister Alexander Novak said that Academician Chersky is capable of completing the construction of Nord Stream 2. In May 2020, the ship arrived at a German port, despite Washington's imposed restrictions on the pipeline.
In mid-May, none of the EU countries agreed to support Gazprom, which asked to recognize the gas pipeline project as completed before the changes in EU laws came into force.
