First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Economic Policy Sergey Kalashnikov proposed introducing a new system for calculating pensions - "by rank". In addition, he proposed to reintroduce deductions of workers for future retirement from their salaries, so that they “feel involved”.

According to the parliamentarian, the points system existing today is so complicated that even experts get confused in it. He believes that the process will be significantly simplified when calculating a pension according to categories.

"The minimum pension is of the first rank, the higher one is the pension of the second rank, and so on up to the maximum, relatively speaking, there should be ten ranks. There is a certain list of indicators that determine a person in a particular rank. And he knows that if he has reached a certain rank, he includes the same that is now included in the coefficient, but only more aggregated indicators. He knows what kind of pension he will have", - shared Kalashnikov with RIA Novosti.

He also pointed out that the indexation of pensions should be carried out according to the same ranks. And it is not at all necessary to index all the ranks at the same time, the parliamentarian is sure - you can focus on the current economic situation.

The deputy recalled that earlier the workers themselves participated in the savings of pensions, as well as the positive experience of the USSR, when citizens paid one percent of their salaries for their future pensions.

"There should be a deduction from the employer to the pension fund, and there should be a deduction of the employee after the salary, so that he feels a part of this money", - Kalashnikov emphasized.

We will remind, on the eve it became known that the Ministry of Finance refused to index pensions for working pensioners.

Earlier, the department, referring to the growing "hole" in the budget caused by the economic crisis, the depreciation of the ruble and the coronavirus pandemic, proposed to cut the costs of a number of departments, including spending on the Ministry of Defense.
