“They want to refuse the term “QR-code”, because, according to the data of closed sociological surveys, more than 50% of Russians have a negative attitude to this concept”, - the message says.
Officials complained that some Russians consider the phrase “QR-code” satanic, and some believe that the introduction of these codes is associated with a restriction of civil liberties.
The term “QR-code” can be replaced by such names as “health passport”, “health certificate”, “green pass”, “covipass”, “sanitary passport” and others.
Since November 12, two bills on the introduction of mandatory QR-codes throughout the country are under consideration in the State Duma. They are planned to be used in transport, shopping centers and restaurants. To get a digital pass, you need to be vaccinated or have proof that a person has already had covid and has antibodies. Also, the exemption will be available to those to whom doctors have issued a medical exemption from vaccination.
The new rules for access to public places are expected to go into effect everywhere on February 1. Meanwhile, a number of regions have already introduced mandatory codes on their territory, which caused discontent among a significant part of citizens.
