The Governor of the Kemerovo Region, Sergei Tsivilev, signed an order to hold celebrations from 6 to 10 July dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the region's founding.

The document signed by the governor was published on the website of the regional government.

"The program of the holiday includes a gala reception, holidays in the municipalities of the region, a festival of national cultures, a concert of Russian pop stars and fireworks," Interfax reports .

Earlier, the authorities of St. Petersburg against the background of a new covid wave "at the request of parents" held a mass holiday "Scarlet Sails" for 40 thousand school graduates. It was visited by 1.2 million viewers and, judging by the numerous photos on social networks, did not observe social distance and did not wear protective masks. However, presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said that the event allegedly followed the instructions of Rospotrebnadzor .

And already on June 28 in Moscow and St. Petersburg, daily maximums for deaths from covid were recorded.

After the "show with sails", which was unpunished for the St. Petersburg authorities, in other regions they decided to step on the same rake. This was done despite the order of Rospotrebnadzor, which officially warned officials about the inadmissibility of holding mass events in regions with a difficult epidemiological situation.

The Kemerovo governor issued orders for a "feast in the midst of kovid" despite the fact that the incidence of coronavirus is growing rapidly in Kuzbass, as well as throughout the country. During the day, 165 cases of COVID-19 infection were detected there, although until June 18, less than a hundred new cases were recorded per day. Since the start of the pandemic, 40,115 people have been infected in the region and 819 of them have died .
