The Russian men's ice hockey team refused to fly to the Winter Olympic Games in Beijing along with other Russian athletes, fearing they could contract the coronavirus from them on the eve of important performances.

It is reported by "Sport-Express".

As the newspaper notes, the hockey players had to fly to Beijing on the same flight with the national teams in Nordic combined, snowboarding, and alpine skiing. In addition, athletes from the speed skating, cross-country skiing and women's hockey teams were partially registered for the flight. However, the national team demanded to provide them with a separate flight. Together with coaches and staff, 78 people are recruited.
