Save Timanovskaya! Belarusian runner threatened with jail after returning from the Olympics

Belarusian athlete Kristina Timanovskaya, whom they tried to forcibly take from Tokyo to Minsk, said that she was afraid to go to prison in her homeland.

After the runner Kristina Timanovskaya criticized the Belarusian sports officials, who, without her knowledge, put her to participate in the 4x400m relay at the Tokyo Olympics, they tried to take the naughty athlete from Tokyo to their homeland on orders from Minsk. “Why am I afraid to fly home? Because I am afraid that in Belarus they might put me in jail”, - by.tribuna.com quotes her as saying. - I'm not afraid that I will be fired or kicked out of the national command. I am worried about my safety. And I think that at the moment it is not safe for me in Belarus”.

Today the athlete had to run 200 meters. However, her coach Yuri Moiseevich said that she was not allowed to participate in competitions, but that she urgently needed to go to the airport and go home. Then she turned to the IOC with a request for help. She is now at the Tokyo airport, accompanied by the Japanese authorities and police.

The head of the Czech Foreign Ministry and the Polish authorities have already announced that they are ready to help Timanovskaya. The IOC assured that the Belarusian athlete Kristina Timanovskaya was safe and protected by local authorities.

Right at the Tokyo airport, the athlete recorded a video asking for help addressed to the International Olympic Committee. Later, the anonymous Telegram channel "Nick and Mike" posted an audio recording of Timanovskaya's conversation with Belarusian sports functionaries who urged the athlete to withdraw from the Olympics and leave Tokyo.

Here's what it says, in particular:

“Don't touch this thing at all now. Talk to your husband and family, but don't inform them either. You are a strong man, you know, a man's strength is to retreat. Do you know why we defeated the French in 1812? Because there was a wise leader Kutuzov, there was the Borodino battle, it did not end in anything, that is, they met, stuffed each other, retreated. What is Kutuzov doing? Kutuzov says: "We must give Moscow." Do you know what a commotion there was? “What do you mean! Moscow! To the French! " He says: "We must give, move away." And the Russian troops left for Moscow. True, Moscow was burnt. Can you imagine Moscow burned down? It was wooden then. Do you know why Napoleon was defeated? Because Napoleon came with his troops to Moscow, they plundered, got drunk, plundered all these churches, collected gold, and then it is no longer a warrior who plundered. He is already thinking how to take all this home. Do you understand what a move back is? And then Kutuzov went down in history to this day as a man who wisely defeated the French.

Therefore, when there is such a situation, it is like in judo - to use the strength of the opponent. He rushes at you, you leave, and he knocks himself down with his own force. This is the situation when you have to act wisely, I ask you to listen to me. "

Journalist Kirill Shulika , commenting on this situation, complained that Russia could have provided Timanovskaya with asylum, but would not:

"In general, I would really like Russia to save Kristina Timanovskaya by giving her political asylum. I would be proud of such an act of the authorities. Anyone, no matter what, because it would be a strong humanitarian step. But Russia is the homeland of cops. And I'm not sure that Russia will have a different government, so it seems that Russia is doomed to hand over the cannibal to the neighbor's cannibal to be devoured by victims.

In fact, big troubles await the Belarusian sport. I am almost sure that not only Timanovskaya will not return home after the Olympics. In principle, she did nothing, and no one would have pressed her, if not for the latest statements of the crazy dictator about sports. Here is a coach who pushed, at home a lot of interesting things are definitely waiting ... "

Shuliki's fears were confirmed by the Belarusian propagandist Konstantin Pridybailo , who told his Russian counterparts from RT that the scandal around Timanovskaya was deliberately inflated:

“In Belarus, even the most inveterate sports fans did not know about Timanovskaya herself. She frankly did not shine with the results: gold at the Universiade and silver at the European Games. Competitions designed to select practically amateurs. And judging by the dry statistics of the IAAF website, where the results of all official starts are noted, Timanovskaya has rather degraded as an athlete for the last four years. Her results were getting worse. You don't become champions like that. Political activists - as we can see.

Kristina Timanovskaya staged a show that she herself could not organize (as people who managed to communicate with her earlier say). And by all indications it is evident. Tikhanovskaya’s headquarters, some people from Pavel Latushko, escaped “journalists” of the “Tribune” website and God knows what other forces immediately joined in the promotion of Timanovskaya. Now an alleged conversation between Timanovskaya and representatives of the National Olympic Committee of Belarus and the delegation has been published. Are you writing all the conversations? Do you immediately give interviews to opposition publications when they stir up a scandal because of a simple recall from the national team? Professional athletes know this happens. And now, at the Tokyo Games, they are kicked out of teams for less radical things ...

An attentive person in this situation sees the rocking of the political theme on the basis of sports. Further calls for sanctions will follow. Runaway Belarusian revolutionaries have already divided athletes into friends and foes. (…) Politics is the following: you are needed now and once. In general, if she wants political asylum, it is her right. But what about the resources that the state spent on it, while trying to grow an Olympian from a student? If you want to run - run, Christina, only the finish will be sad, because with such a support group that we have now, this is a race to nowhere ... "

It remains to add one important detail: on the eve of the Olympics, dictator Lukashenko made completely ugly and wild statements before the Belarusian Olympic delegation, threatening sports officials with the most severe sanctions if the team performs poorly. Directly and said: "Better not come back!" It is unlikely that after that someone from the Belarusian team can have any illusions about what awaits them in their homeland.
