The death of Yuri Rozanov was announced by his colleague, the host of the sports TV channel "Match-TV" Mikhail Mossakovsky. In 2019, Yuri Rozanov was diagnosed with cancer. "The broadcast starts in 15 minutes. I don't know how to work", - wrote Mikhail Mossakovsky on his Twitter.

The press service of the Russian Premier League said that the matches of the 21st round of the Russian football championship will begin with a minute of silence in memory of Yuri Rozanov.

Yuri Rozanov was born in 1961 in the city of Zagorsk (now Sergiev Posad) near Moscow. In 1996, he began his career as a TV commentator on NTV-Plus, reminds the Kommersant newspaper. In 2002-2003, he was the host of the Sports News program in the news programs of the TVS channel, then a commentator on Ukrainian channels, then worked on the sports channels of the All-Russian State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company.

Since November 2015, Yuri Rozanov has been commenting on football and hockey matches on the Match TV channel, he was awarded the TEFI prize in 2012. He was named the winner in the category "Best Sports Commentator 2018" by the Russian Association of Sports Commentators (RASK). In May 2018, he also opened his online sports commenting school.
