In Paris, 26-year-old tennis player Yana Sizikova was detained. She is suspected of deliberately losing the French Open in tennis.

Now a tennis player from the Russian Federation is in custody. She is accused of sports corruption and organized criminal fraud. The hotel room where she was staying was searched, writes Le Parisien.

The investigation of the loss of the Russian and American Madison Brengl, who played in a pair against tennis players from Romania Patricia Maria Tsig and Christine-Andrei Mitu, was initiated by the French police in October last year. Investigators were attracted by suspicious bets in bookmakers on the winnings of Romanian athletes. The number of bets was incredibly large, and the amounts reached hundreds of thousands of euros. After that, during the fight, the Russian woman made two mistakes in the fifth game in the second set. It was on this game that the most suspicious bets were made. The meeting ended with a score of 7: 6 (10: 8) 6: 4. Investigators believe these mistakes were deliberately made to "drain" the game.
