The Russian ski jumping team won the first Olympic medal in its history. Based on the results of four attempts, the team scored 890.3 points and took second place.

Russia was represented by athletes Irma Makhinya, Danil Sadreev, Irina Avvakumova and Yevgeny Klimov, reports Sovetsky Sport.

Gold was taken by the Slovenian team, which showed a result of 1001.5 points. Bronze - the Canadian team, which scored 844.6 points.

It's worth reminding that before Russian athletes have never won medals in this discipline at the previously held Olympic Games. The last time only Soviet athletes managed to take a medal in this discipline at the Olympics in 1968, Soviet Sport notes.

Now Russian athletes are in second place in the medal standings. The Russians have two gold medals, three silver and two bronze medals. Russia is ahead of Sweden, which has three gold medals.
