The Russian government lifted the restriction on the return of foreign athletes and coaches to the country. Upon arrival in the Russian Federation, they all must undergo two-week quarantine.
Corresponding amendments were made to the order on temporary restriction of entry into Russia.
- Foreign athletes and coaching staff members will be able to return to Russia in the near future. The permit applies to those who have a valid labor contract with a Russian sports organization, the statement says.
The cabinet noted that the decision will help professional sports organizations, including football clubs represented in the Russian Premier League, resume training after easing the restrictions associated with the spread of coronavirus.
Recall that, by order of the Minister of Sports Oleg Matytsin, the bases of national teams should be closed before the beginning of June.
