Russian grandmaster Sergey Karjakin announced his intention to create an organization that would become an alternative to the International Chess Federation (FIDE).

He believes that such an organization will find its own sponsors, which will allow holding international tournaments and the World Cup with a large prize fund.

At the beginning of the week, FIDE disqualified Karjakin for six months for supporting the special operation and the actions of the President of Russia. Thus, the organization deprived the Russian of the opportunity to participate in the Candidates Tournament. The reason for disqualification is a violation of the Code of Ethics.

"After these events, I made a firm decision that I would try my best together with my friends, colleagues, like-minded people to create a new organization as an alternative to FIDE", - said the grandmaster.

It should be noted that in political judgments Karjakin is also supported by the 12th world chess champion, State Duma deputy Anatoly Karpov. In his opinion, the decision of the federation to disqualify has no legal force and grounds.
