Hugo Maradone, who was also a professional footballer and had played for Napoli for a while, was 52 years old.

The former footballer died at his home near Naples on Tuesday from cardiac arrest, like his illustrious brother 13 months ago, BBC Sport reported. Hugo was a member of the Argentina youth national team, played in clubs in Italy, Austria, Argentina, Spain and Japan. In 1987, he signed a contract with Napoli, where Diego played at that time, who spent the best years of his football life in Naples - from 1984 to 1991. Hugo Maradona is survived by a wife and three children.

Diego Maradona, considered one of the greatest footballers of all time, died in November 2020 at the age of 60 at his home in Buenos Aires, where he was recovering from brain surgery. Shortly after his death, an investigation was launched, as a result of which the neurosurgeon Leopoldo Luca, who treated the football player, and six other doctors were charged with negligence and probable premeditated murder. Now all seven are awaiting trial.
