The President of the Russian Federation instructed to strengthen control over the observance of sanitary and epidemiological measures in transport. What device could make the fight against COVID-19 more effective, State Duma deputy Fedot Tumusov told Sputnik radio.

Control over the observance of sanitary and epidemiological measures on all types of transport should be strengthened. About it it says in the list of instructions of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin , according to the results of a meeting with members of the government, held on October 20.

In an interview with Sputnik radio, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Health Protection Committee Fedot Tumusov expressed the opinion that compliance with safety measures, along with vaccinations, would help stop the surge in the incidence.

“We are now experiencing, one might say, the fourth wave of the pandemic, and every day we see terrible incidence rates. - this is a person, his health and life. There are two ways to stop this, the first is vaccination, and the second is precautions, "he said.

According to the deputy, strengthening control over the observance of sanitary and epidemiological measures could be accompanied by the use of special devices for air disinfection in transport.

“Measures will be taken one way or another to protect the health of our people, but their efficiency can be increased. For example, are there recirculators (a device for air disinfection, - ed.) In every bus? whether a person has a mask, we check the temperature at the entrance. These are traditional methods of control. This instruction (from the president, - Ed.) should be considered a little more broadly. Not just put a "sentry" at each vehicle to control the masks, which is also necessary, but also technical equipment also needs to be strengthened. For example, recirculators should be installed to disinfect the air, " Fedot Tumusov believes.

Tumusov's proposal is not new. "NI" repeatedly wrote in their articles that the main thing in public transport is to fight the coronavirus "on the approach", that is, in the air that bus passengers breathe. And this can be done only with the help of UV recirculators, inside which an ultraviolet lamp with a special wavelength kills almost all viruses and bacteria.

Moreover, there is no shortage of such devices in Russia. Manufacturers are ready to meet the demand, but warn against the uselessness of Chinese counterfeits, where UV lamps do not have the "correct" radiation and only mimic the fight against infections.
