Producer Andrea Iervolino announced the launch of a reality show featuring mixed martial arts fighters, the finale of which will take place in space.

The project will be called Galactic Combat. It will be attended by 40 mixed martial arts fighters from around the world, according to the Fast Company website. For a whole year they will master a new sport - MMA-Zero G. Athletes will be taught to fight in zero gravity, using programs that train astronauts for flights. At the end of the show, the two strongest fighters will fight on board a spaceship that will orbit the Earth for an hour and a half.

Andrea Iervolino is a well-known Italian businessman and film producer, whose projects include The Merchant of Venice with Al Pacino and The Survivor with Mila Jovovich. Iervolino recently founded Space 11, a company that will produce films and television shows in space. The team included former SpaceX employees, astrophysicists and astronomers. “Fighting in zero gravity is something completely different from fighting on Earth”, - says Iervolino. "Our show will be truly groundbreaking, it will be an incredible pushing of boundaries".

The Galactic Combat project is currently in preparation. 12 episodes are scheduled to air in 2023.
