Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev proposed limiting the term of the presidential mandate to seven years without the right to re-election.

- I recommend limiting the presidential term to one term of 7 years. But re-election is prohibited,” Tokayev said during a message to citizens.

The proposed constitutional novel will "significantly reduce the risks of monopolization of power," the president believes, which is why he considers it necessary "the rule of a one-time presidency."

In the meantime, the Kazakh president can be in power for five years without a break. At the same time, the same person cannot be the head of state for more than two times in a row.

Earlier, Tokayev instructed the government to create favorable conditions in the country for the relocation of foreign companies that have left and are leaving the Russian market. He made such a statement at an extended meeting of the Cabinet.

"
