Despite the reports about a serious illness and even about the death of Kim Jong-un, which earlier circulated in the world media, judging by the published pictures, the head of the DPRK is healthy and vivacious. It is reported that in the photo behind the North Korean leader a banner is visible with the date of the event at which he appeared - "May 1, 2020".

In the published photographs, Kim Jong-un is pictured on the podium at the opening ceremony of the plant, while cutting the red ribbon and inspecting the new enterprise. In some pictures next to him is his sister Kim Yo Jeong.

The head of the DPRK has not appeared in public since April 12. The media in South Korea, the United States and Japan reported his serious illness after a heart operation, and the New York Post, citing Hong Kong media a week earlier, reported the death of Kim Jong-un. At the same time, it was reported that a delegation of doctors and members of the Chinese government went to the DPRK. This trip took place against the backdrop of many media reports about a serious deterioration in the health of the North Korean leader.

The authorities of China, South Korea, the United States, and also in the State Duma of Russia denied reports of the death of the head of the DPRK.
