Representatives of the French tourism industry are worried that there are no Russians and Chinese in the country who were willing to pay well in restaurants.

In 2019, Russian and Chinese guests accounted for up to 2% of tourists visiting France, but it was this part of the tourists who were more willing to spend their money in the country: the expenses of Russians and Chinese amounted to about 6% of French tourism revenues (more than 3 billion euros).

The French note that the absence of guests from the Russian Federation and China in the gardens of the Vaux-le-Vicomte palace is especially noticeable. Previously, this complex was very popular among foreigners, among whom Chinese tourists accounted for a tenth. According to the PR manager of the palace "Vaux-le-Vicomte" Elisa Galle, foreigners used to rent a picturesque corner with a manor and gardens for weddings, leaving hundreds of thousands of euros for a unique service. But everything is in the past.

According to event organizer Valerie Lafucard, weddings at the Vaux-le-Vicomte palace have not been played since March of the year before last, and it was precisely such weddings that brought up to 12% of income. Since the maintenance of the palace is very expensive, it is not easy without weddings. At first, tourists from China were scared away by the pandemic, then the Russians stopped visiting France - the crisis in Ukraine affected.

Dozens of yachts are idle on the Cote d'Azur, while every third yacht was reserved by guests from Russia. Today, not a single yacht is in reserve, according to the FAN agency.

The financial losses of the French tourism industry are enormous, and experts believe that it will be difficult to compensate for these losses. If in 2019 France was the most popular tourist destination, today everything has changed not for the better.
