In the UK, vodka and beer of Russian origin are banned, according to the Daily Mail. Local companies are severing ties with partners from Russia, explaining this by their unwillingness to finance a special operation in Ukraine from their own pocket.

For example, Wetherspoons stopped selling Russian beer. Previously, in hundreds of pubs under the sign of Wetherspoons, you could order Baltika, a bottle of which cost £2.99 here. Now the beer brewed in the hometown of the Russian president has been removed from the drinks list, and all unsold bottles are being returned to distributor Carlsberg. “We are in no way implying that anyone associated with the brewery is directly involved in what is happening, but we thought that in light of the current situation, our pubs do not want to serve Russian beer”, - the owners of Wetherspoons say.

Numerous British bars have announced they are ditching Russian-made vodka. In addition, restaurateurs are looking for an alternative to traditionally Russian products such as caviar, which are also being boycotted in protest.

Some restaurants, such as London-based Il Portico, are revamping their menus to showcase their position while also raising money to support Ukraine. James Chiavarini, owner of Il Portico restaurant in London, has updated his menu to raise money to support Ukraine.

He tweeted: "From today chicken Kyiv will be back in the menu at Portico for the first time in over 40 years. With every order we will donate £5 to the Red Cross in Ukraine".
