Russian tourists were advised to urgently leave Nepal

Russian Ambassador to Nepal Alexei Novikov made an appeal to the citizens of the Russian Federation about the need to immediately leave Nepal. According to TASS, since May 3, the government of Nepal has completely suspended all domestic flights and warned of the termination of international flights from May 6.

Anyone who has planned a trip to Nepal for the May holidays was advised to postpone the trip due to the aggravation of the situation with the coronavirus in the country.

“We have been officially notified that the government of Nepal has decided to suspend domestic flights from today and to close international flights from this Thursday due to the rapidly deteriorating epidemiological situation. Hospitals in Nepal are experiencing a shortage of free places and a shortage of equipment and medicines”, - the news agency quoted Novikov as saying.

Against the background of the aggravating situation with the number of infections with a new coronavirus infection, the head of the diplomatic mission of the Russian Federation noted that the period for which the flight ban is imposed has not been precisely defined. Those who return to the Russian Federation after May 1, according to the new requirements, will have to take PCR tests for coronavirus, even if they were previously vaccinated. Additional precautions are dictated by the fact that in Asian countries, infections with the so-called Indian strain of the coronavirus, which are particularly infectious, are increasingly being recorded.
