President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said that the population of Russia and Ukraine is envious of the Belarusians who built a "safe and strong country".

“The main thing is that we managed to avoid wars, we live in a safe, calm state where everyone who has a child can go out at any time of the day and be calm. Citizens of other countries envy us: our brothers Russians, Ukrainians”, - noted Alexander Lukashenko in his speech at the solemn meeting in honor of the Independence Day of Belarus.

According to Reedus, the Belarusian president also reminded the audience about the imminent election of the head of state and urged them to decide not so much on the candidacy as on the prospects for the country's development.

Alexander Lukashenko added that he decided to take part in the elections again not because he was holding on to his post “clutching his blue fingers”, but because he had already dedicated the best years of his life to building the country.
