The border guards of Kyrgyzstan have been transferred to an enhanced regime of service in connection with the resumption of a tense situation on the border with Tajikistan, the Border Service of the Kyrgyz State Committee for National Security (GKNB) reports.

According to representatives of the Border Service, the situation is connected with the fact that the Tajik side "violated all the previously reached agreements of the intergovernmental delegations of the parties on the delimitation and demarcation of the Kyrgyz-Tajik border" Alay district of Osh region (Kyrgyzstan). It is noted that at the same time, "an entry into the depths of the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic up to 1000 meters" was made.

Later, the container was left in this area, and those who installed it "moved back only 600 meters."

The State Committee for National Security noted that from the side of Tajikistan on the border, there was a "congestion of military personnel" who move in cars, as well as lightly armored vehicles. The Kyrgyz border service clarified that "measures are being taken to resolve the situation."

Recall that in the spring of this year, clashes occurred on the border of the two republics, for the first time in the history of the conflict with the demarcation of their borders, which led to such large-scale destruction and casualties. In four days, 34 people were killed from the Kyrgyz side, 178 were injured, 78 houses, 10 gas stations, eight shops, three border posts, two schools, a paramedic and midwife station, a kindergarten and the building of the Department of Internal Affairs were damaged in the villages. From eight to ten people became victims of the conflict on the part of Tajikistan, over 90 were injured.

After the collapse of the USSR, there are over 70 disputed sections on the border between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, which is almost 1000 kilometers long. Inside Kyrgyzstan, in the southern part of the Fergana Basin, there are several enclaves of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, and they are supplied with water, including from Kyrgyz water sources. Since 2010, at least 150 military incidents have occurred on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border. The record year was 2014, when more than 30 incidents occurred.
