In a statement, the Social Democratic Party of Kyrgyzstan, which supports the former president of the republic, Almazbek Atambayev, said that the Kyrgyz people "overthrew the criminal government" in the country.

"A truly historic event took place in Kyrgyzstan. Once again, the Kyrgyz people, united by the desire for justice and freedom, overthrew the criminal government. The people have again shown that they will not allow the family-clan regime to usurp all the authorities in the country", - quotes Interfax message of the party representatives.

Today they are going to discuss the current situation in the republic, as well as determine the urgent measures that need to be taken to maintain stability in Kyrgyzstan.

The party called on all concerned citizens "who share our common values" to join the meeting and "jointly develop a program of further actions, both in the political direction and in the field of maintaining public order".

A spokesman for the opposition party Mekenchil told the agency that the opposition has nominated former parliamentary deputy Sadyr Japarov for the post of prime minister of the republic.
