The protesters in Kyrgyzstan seized the administration of Bishkek and appointed a new mayor of the republic's capital, Zhooshbek Koenaliev.

"The Bishkek City Hall was captured by about 30 supporters of opposition parties. They did not present any demands to the current government”, - Gulya Almambetova, adviser to the mayor of Aziza Surakmatova, told Interfax.

The message of the demonstrators said that "after the people's revolution on October 6, a people's mayor was elected in Bishkek until the appointment of a new mayor in accordance with the law".

On the night of October 6, the protesters seized the government building, and also released the former head of the republic, Almazbek Atambayev, from the pre-trial detention center.
